Eating Our Delicious Mangos is Paradise!
Juicy, tasty, melt in your mouth fruits, the creme de la creme of good
eating our Paradise Mangos. Our mangos have Big Island
Flavor and are grown on Pine Island in Bokeelia, in southwest
Florida.
Growers Sal and Libby Vita are a family owner-operators and love growing
this delectable fruit! We enjoy eating mangos and sharing our passion of this
fruit with all of you mangos lovers is our goal.
Our grove established in 2000 is planted with several of the best new
varieties of mangos that flourish in southwest Florida, including Hayden,
Julie, Keitt, Glenn, Nam-doc-mai and Valencia Pride.
The unique flavors and textures are defined below:
COGSHALL:The Cogshall (or COGS HALL) originated on Pine
Island (Bokeelia) , Lee County, Florida.It has an outstanding red and yellow
color and the flesh is soft, tender, melting, juicy and completely fiber-less.
It ripens from early June to July. It has a distinct tropical aroma, with
luscious peach, coconut and pineapple flavors. The fruit weights
16-20 oz.
JULIE: The Julie ripens from June to
July .It has a hint of clove and cinnamon, it is sweet having
somewhat of a pineapple flavor, delicious!
KEITT: The Keitt ripens from August to
October. It has interesting layers of coconut, with creamy
vanilla and lush peach flavors. The Keitt is an exceptionally large mango
averaging 2 lbs. The fruit is ready to eat when soft to the touch (gives
slightly in to a finger pressure) although remaining green.
GLENN: The Glenn is a HADEN seedling and much like
Haden, it is a Florida favorite. It ripens from June to
July. It has interesting
vibrant, tropical mild peach flavor, with hints of caramel.
The fruit is attractive and weights 15 to 20oz. The firm orange /yellow flesh
is sweet and juicy but at the same time fiberless. A great mango that
never disappoints!
NAM-DOC-MAI: The Nam-doc-mai ripens from June
to July. It is a premium cultivar introduced to Florida from
Thailand. The firm, sweet, very aromatic fruit with loads of complex flavors of
melon, peach and tangerine. The long slender fruit weighs from 12 to 16 oz. The
fruits when ripen vary from light green to yellow. The fiber less fruit is
sweet and succulent with a creamy delicate consistency.
VALENCIA PRIDE: The Valencia Pride ripens from
July to August. It is sweet, aromatic, firm, smooth
and succulent. The large slender fruits are yellow with a reddish blush when
ripe. Fruits are large and average between 20-30 ounces, a south Florida
favorite!
Our mangos are handpicked and treated with care to be certain that they will
meet ours and your standards as a first quality
mango.
Mangos ripen gradually and picking is completed on a timely basis, according
to the variety and readiness. Typically, our season is late May through early October.
We pick and select your order for shipping, to ensure you will enjoy
your slice of paradise, the perfect mango from our
grove. The final ripening of the fruit occurs off the tree and will allow it to
ripen fully in your possession. It will develop a flavor that we are sure you
will love!
